AMC School provides an innovative and up-to-date educational model that combines the latest methodologies and pedagogical approaches with the innovative and flexible use of technology inside and outside the classroom.
This model provides students with a variety of applied and social educational activities that help in developing their personalities, skills and competencies.
The innovative teaching model at AMC is based on distributing the learning activities used in the traditional learning environment into the different modalities of blended learning. In that way some learning activities can be done in a synchronous mode, with students and teachers in direct contact (in the classroom or virtual), and others in an asynchronous mode, mainly with automatic tracking and correction through a Learning Management System (LMS). Opportunities for self-paced and collaborative learning are also available.
This transformative model, from traditional to blended learning, assists school teachers in their efforts to re-engineer the learning journey of students in general, and to design lesson plans appropriate for their different classes and subjects. Teachers are also trained on transforming learning resources into digital, interactive, self-explanatory and auto-corrected lessons, which apply formative assessment to strengthen and enrich learners’ experience.
The school is the child's second home, and where he learns the foundations of a good life. In school, the child learns how to interact and coexist with diverse personalities, viewpoints, perspectives and approaches in different circumstances.
In this digital age, and with all the advanced and modern methods of education, the dynamic of face-to-face learning is still important and necessary for the emotional and social development of every child.
Therefore, AMC is keen to maintain balance between the demands of this digital era and the social and emotional needs of students, in a healthy environment that fosters well-being and growth mindset.
In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, schools were exposed to many challenges and changes that gave a new dimension to the educational process.
At AMC, we use a state-of-the-art online digital learning model based on an integrated platform designed specifically for teachers and students.
The educational content available to teachers and students of the school, not only covers the entire Lebanese curriculum, but also provides the user with a large number of new interactive lessons and resources, with the aim of enhancing the competencies and skills of students and teachers, and train students on independent thinking, profound research analytical skills, and proactive lifelong learning.
AMC School is distinguished, in addition to its mastery of traditional face-to-face education and digital online learning, by applying an innovative and effective model that blends both modes whenever possible.
In and out of the physical classroom, rich and interactive content is used for blended learning, using specialized educational technologies, to provide adaptive individualized learning, which can cope with the various students’ levels, paces and learning styles, within the same grade. Through blended learning, AMC School students communicate with one another and with teachers around the clock.
AMC is committed to academic excellence and to providing a comprehensive education to prepare outstanding students who are capable of handling all challenges, and engaging in all circumstances.
AMC offers the Lebanese curriculum in a modern way that fosters three languages, Arabic, French and English for all educational levels.
In addition, the concepts included in the Lebanese curriculum are presented in an advanced manner, supported by international digital interactive content, based on the latest educational design concepts and educational strategies, to develop the modern core competencies that the student needs in this era, and train him to develop and apply higher-order thinking skills.
The school's goals include helping students transcend the traditional educational skills of understanding, remembering and initial application, and go to broader horizons such as analysis and evaluation, and producing innovative solutions and new ideas.
Accordingly, the Lebanese curriculum is presented through a new methodology and innovative educational approach, using a variety of technological components, including digital interactive content libraries and modules, and an integrated technological learning environment that provides multiple and flexible types and modalities of blended learning.
In order to achieve AMC’s mission and goals, and successfully realize an impactful change in the overall school’s learning and teaching culture, by adopting modern educational methodologies and technologies, AMC assigns high priority to providing continuous professional development and coaching to teachers, coordinators, and department heads. Teachers and coordinators work collaboratively, sharing experiences and best practices to align curricula, assessment tools and teaching strategies.
An intensive teacher training program has been designed and implemented, providing all school teachers with detailed training on how to effectively plan for the transition from traditional to blended learning, and how to effectively use the tools, technical applications, digital libraries’ content, as well as the integrated digital learning environment that is provided to all teachers, students and parents.
In addition, periodic meetings are arranged for coordinators and teachers, with specialized experts, to follow up on the detailed implementation of modern learning methods, discuss various results, and overcome any unexpected challenges or obstacles.
Teachers are trained to create and foster a strong relationship with their students outside the walls of the physical classroom, through a broader and more sophisticated concept of digital presence, which is a modern concept that is achieved using different types of blended learning methods and media. It gives students comfort and confidence, trains them to excel and innovate, and allows teachers to provide ongoing academic support in a flexible manner.
Teachers are also trained on using modern authoring tools, connected to the provided integrated learning platform, in order to assist them in creating their own digital interactive exercises and lessons, and assign them to the entire class, or to a specific group of students in class. Hence, teachers are empowered with tools and know-how to implement modern individualized and adaptive blended learning. This goes hand-in-hand with continuous coaching, follow up, planning, setting educational KPIs for teachers, and evaluating their performance accordingly, and keep providing tailored individualized support, coaching and training as needed.
Technology is not only a product or a scientific research application, but rather a stimulus to revise and broaden our knowledge, improve our scientific imagination and thinking skills, and update our approach to innovative solutions and methods. Robots are becoming more popular, as modern society begins to harness the potential of robotic solutions to the world’s greatest challenges, in various production and services sectors.
The Robotics and AI Innovation Lab at AMC was introduced by GE during the academic year 2021-2022, with the main objective of introducing students to a variety of important applications of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, which allows them to engage in the learning process using hands-on robotics activities. This helps instilling a scientific character in our students, fosters their innovation and creativity, and provides them with the opportunity to work with modern smart tools and equipment, and to experience and understand various academic concepts through experiential, project-based, and activity-based learning. It also provides students with an in-depth understanding of the kinematics and dynamics of robotic arms, and the collaborative design of real production and logistics robotic systems and solutions. The AI applications demonstrate flexible human machine interaction, including voice and face recognition, and how to build smart robotic systems that can interact with customers and human operators by using natural language and visual gestures.
The Robotics and AI Innovation Lab at AMC consists of 4 modern Robotic arms with various types of grippers, 2 Vision Kits, 2 AI Kits, 2 Conveyor Belts, 2 Sliding Rails, a 3D Printer, a Laser engraver, and a CNC engraver, which can be all interconnected in different manners with the lab’s computers, to implement various solutions for real time problems in different production and services sectors. The programming language of all these devices is based on a visual coding language, which is automatically translated into Python, and thus identical with AMC’s ICT curriculum, which focuses on Scratch and Python. Therefore, the Robotic and AI Innovation Lab becomes a place for students to implement their coding skills, in practical solutions beyond their computer screens, with high precision and mobility, which helps them transforming their imaginations into reality.
This is why, the Robotics and AI Innovation Lab at AMC offers several avenues and options for setting up different real-life applications, such as production lines, product picking and sorting, waste sorting according to type, warehouse sorting, 3D modeling, Laser and CNC engraving, artistic calligraphy, customer service at retail shops, using AI-based voice and image recognition, and many other applications.
